Giving a Little Slack

So you might be reading this while you’re supposed to be working, but what if doing social networking was actually increasing your efficiency? Then it wouldn’t be slacking, would it? Well, a new study http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=2815 out today shows that (in Europe at least) workers feel that they are being more efficient, getting more inspiration and generally accomplishing more when they have the freedom to noodle around on Facebook and other social networking sites.

OK I’m all for that.

So next time your boss says “what do you think you’re doing reading this Grain for Your Brain thing?” you can reply “I’m increasing efficiency” with a straight face. Would AT&T lie to you about these things (them being a communications company and all?) Naaaah.
